Math fluency is a critical part of overall mathematical success. Being fluent in math is more than simply memorizing facts and procedures. Fluency includes students working efficiently & using strategic thinking to carry out a computation. While math fluency does involve accuracy, it is more than just getting the correct answer. It also involves considering the meaning of an operation, and the student being able to think about their answer & evaluating its reasonableness.
